Penilaian kinerja karyawan atau performance appraisal selalu dihadapkan pada persoalan obyektifitas dan subyektivitas. Unsur obyektifitas dan subyektifitas akan selalu muncul dari "penilai" dimana akar permasalahannya biasanya berasal dari "standar penilaian yang tidak jelas", "sistem penilaian yang tidak baik", maupun dari "diri pribadi sang penilai". Informasi yang kami dapatkan dari peserta workshop yang diadakan oleh HRD Forum, didapat bahwa sebagian peserta masih meragukan obyektifitas Performance Appraisal di perusahaannya. Mengapa hal itu masih dan selalu terjadi? ternyata dalam praktek performance appraisal-nya, tidak ada atau belum dibuat-nya indikator kinerja yang terukur dan obyektif. Sudah pasti, tanpa didukung oleh identifikasi key performance indicators secara tepat, pengelolaan Performance Appraisal atau penilaian Kinerja Karyawan tidak dapat berjalan secara obyektif.

Workshop ini didesain untuk memandu para peserta membuat sebuah Performance Appraisal system yang obyektif dengan menggunakan Key Performance Indicators secara tepat, benar dan optimal, berdasarkan job description dan tugas yang telah menjadi tanggung jawabnya. dalam workshop ini juga akan diuraikan mengenai cara mengukur dan memonitor pencapaian KPI serta target kinerja yang telah ditetapkan. Dalam Workshop ini seluruh peserta diwajibkan praktek langsung membuat P.A dengan KPI sehingga setelah selesai workshop seluruh peserta dapat membuatnya di perusahaan masing-masing. 70% praktek dan hanya 30% menjelaskan teori.

Seluruh peserta diwajibkan membawa laptop untuk secara langsung membuat sebuah Performance Appraisal System yang sesuai dengan kondisi di perusahaan masing-masing. seluruh peserta juga diwajibkan membawa contoh Job description minimal tiga job position, sebagai bahan untuk praktek pembuatan Performance Appraisal System dan KPI-nya.
