[Job-Vacancy] Vacant Position: OHS MANAGER (OHS-MGR)

 

PT. JDA-Indonesia is manpower consultants for the Oil & Gas, Mining, Manufacturing and Construction industries within Indonesia. JDA has been servicing the Indonesian Oil & Gas, Mining, Manufacturing and Construction industry for 20 years.

 

Our Client, a Multinational mining company located in North Sumatra is seeking an:

OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGER (Code: OHS-MGR)

Reporting to the Project Director, the Safety Manager will formulate and then implement and manage the OH&S policies and procedures for the development, operation and eventual closure of the Company's mining operation.

 

The key accountabilities include:

 

1.      Develop and to implement policies and procedures to establish and maintain a safe, healthy working environment during the construction, operation and closure of the mine.

 

2.      Ensure that the mining and ancillary activities meet or exceed the requirements and obligations of prevailing Indonesian OH&S law and regulation and are in accordance with international best practice.

 

3.      Keep abreast of the prevailing laws, regulations and codes of conduct which relate to the OH&S management of mining operations in Indonesia.

 

4.      Liaise with the relevant governmental institutions in all matters relating to the OH&S management of the mining operations.

 

5.      Establish, equip and recommend staffing for the Company's OH&S Department.

 

6.      Meet regularly with local health professionals and with the relevant local health authorities, to discuss the impacts of the mine development(s), policy implementation and/or any general issues relating to the OH&S of the company workforce and the workforce's interaction with the local community.

 

7.      Assist the Community and Social Responsibility Manager with the OH&S aspects of public relations by keeping the local people well informed as to the OH&S impacts of construction and operations and evaluation of the OH&S impact of Community Development programmes;

 

The successful candidate will possess the following key criteria:

 

1.      Relevant OH&S training and qualifications and preferably a Degree at S1 level or equivalent in an appropriate discipline.

 

2.      Minimum of 8 -10 years experience, preferably with some in remote mining areas, and a proven track record in a broad range of OH&S management activities.

 

3.      Financial skills to handle project and budget responsibilities.

 

4.      Computer literate in the Microsoft range of Office programs including spreadsheets, statistics programs and databases.

 

5.      Excellent written and oral communication skills, in both English and Indonesian, to liaise with internal and external contacts at both national and international levels.

 

6.      High performing leadership.

 

7.      Advanced analytical and problem solving ability and planning skills.

MANAGER HUMAN RESOURCES (Code: HRM-NS)

Reporting to the Project Director, the Manager Human Resources will lead the company's Human Resources Department to achieve strategic and business goals, within time, cost, quality and safety parameters, to contribute to the corporate creed/vision, facilitate business improvements and to satisfy client needs.  The incumbent will be initially based in Jakarta during the mine development stage and then work on a fly in / fly out roster to the minesite.

 

The key roles and accountabilities include:

 

·        Initiate and develop the HR Department's strategic and annual business plans to determine key priorities consistent with the Company's corporate goals and then monitor and review the Department's performance to assess achievements within safety, quality, time and cost parameters;

·        Provide human resources strategic planning, support, advice and leadership to the Company;

·        Develop, maintain and adjust the Department's organisation structure and services to meet customers' and stakeholders' needs;

·        Understand the needs and aspirations of line management, employees and their families, and employee representatives and manage those needs in line with the Company's interests and the principles of mining industry best HR practice;

·        Maintain an effective and ethical relationship with all levels of Government in respect of human resources matters, particularly with regards to compliance with labour law, regulations and reporting requirements; and

·        Keep abreast of human resources trends and mining industry best HR practice.

 

 

The successful candidate will possess the following key criteria:

 

·        Tertiary qualifications, preferably in the Humanities and/or Commercial disciplines with fluency in both written and spoken English;

·        10-15 years of proven track record at executive management levels in the human resources function at both a national and international level;

·        Strategic planning and operations management skills to establish and achieve long term goals as well as meet immediate business performance targets;

·        Strong and effective leadership;

·        Sound negotiation & problem solving skills.

 

 

An attractive remuneration package will be offered to the right candidate.

Requirements:

-   Male max. 35 years old

-   Minimum Bachelor Degree (S1) from Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering

-   Strong command in English both verbal & written

-   Computer literate

-   Interpersonal skill

-   Leadership skill

-   Min. 2 - 3 years experience in preventive & productive maintenance in a factory / manufacturing industry

-   HSE/OHSAS certification is advantage
